Welcome to Mammoth!
We can't wait for you to enjoy Mammoth as much as our family has over the years!
Located near Old Mammoth Road and Minaret, you'll enjoy being a block from the Mammoth Creek, a light walk to Vons and the Movie Theater, and the 2nd / 2nd to last stop on the Redline! We added some of our favorite Mammoth Activities down past the photos!
Refreshing summer time pool, 2 all-season hot tubs, sauna, showers, locker room and on-site professional management to clear snow and keep an eye on things, makes for a beautiful and relaxing setting.
Inside on the ground floor, you'll find 2 en-suite bedrooms each with a full bath, king size bed and lots of closet space. Just outside of each room is the laundry area and closet for skis and other recreational items!
Head upstairs to where the fun happens - expandable dining table, comfortable sofa set, dramatic fireplace and another bathroom with shower to service the sleepers in the upstairs loft. You'll find games under the TV and books just under the suspiciously frolicking otters!
The 3rd floor loft offers 4 more beds for the communal types! (Look for the floor plan down past the photos.)
Things to do in the Winter:
Ski!
It's hard to beat Mammoth!
Get up early and park at Eagle Lodge - it's about a mile and a half from the condo.
Sleep in, and park at Chair 4 and hike over to the chair lift.
Snow days - walk outside and grab the bus to the Main Lodge. It's the 2nd stop on the way up so there is just about always room on the bus. It's the 2nd-to-last stop on the way home, so get comfortable and enjoy not having to transfer.
Exhausted Ski Buddies? Send them home after lunch, ski for the rest for the afternoon, take the 3:58 chairlift up (you have to make that chair, the lifts close at 4) and have them pick you up at Eagle at 4:15pm. Ideally, they will have the hors d'oeuvres prepped and on the table when you arrive.
Newbies - put them in an age appropriate ski lesson. It's expensive. 80% of the lesson is learning to love skiing. The alternative shouldn't be considered.
Too Crowded - Ski June one day!
Wooly's Tube park - Take the conveyor up and tube down.
Snow Mobile - I see them, but have never done it. It's hard to miss a day of skiing.
Summer:
Hike - You can just walk around the complex and the trip would be worth it. The air is amazing.
You can go to Reds Meadow, the Mammoth Lakes,
Soak in the Hot Springs out past the airport.
Rock climb
Rent bikes and head down the mountain or zip around town - E-bikes are happening.
Fish - get up early and hit any of the lakes. I'm sure you'll catch something. Sleep in, have breakfast, bike around, and then fish the creek at dusk - it's my favorite time - late afternoon shadows and breezes... Gold! I've only caught fish in the creek!
Trips to...
Convict Lake - a bit south
Eastern Yosemite - Tuolumne meadows and Tenaya Lake are and hour away. Yosemite Village is 2 hours away. Some day, I'll hike from Yosemite to Mammoth...
Mono Lake
Ancient Bristlecone Forest.
Eat
Giovannis for Pizza
Roberto's for Mexican
Bergers for Burgers, and other Heaty meals like chicken and chili.
If it's crowded, cook at home. During busy times at Vons, remember not all 8 people from the condo need to pick out coffee or cereal together. 2-person job!
Lunch
There's great food at the mountain.
You can bring your lunch and drinks and cover it in the snow.
Go to McCoy (halfway up the gondola) with your left overs and look for the Microwave. It's not an air fryer, but it's still a game changer.
Don't abuse the microwave, I shed a tear of joy every time I heat up my wife's meatballs!
